Manchester United and Manchester City have both emerged as interested clubs in signing French centre-back Dayot Upamecano, following interest from Arsenal.
Upemecano, who currently plays for RB Leipzig, is one of the hottest prospects in world football.
Starting his career in native France, he joined RB Salzberg in 2015. Soon after he switched to RB Leipzig for a reported €10 million fee.
The defender gained attention a few seasons ago, following the emergence of the German club. The side are pushing Bayern Munich at the top of the table, as an influx of cash has pushed them to the next level. They currently sit in 3rd place five points off top with nine games remaining.
Upamecano, though, is in the final year of his contract. He currently has a release clause of £52.5m (€60m).

Manchester or London?
Upamecano has been heavily linked with Arsenal recently. But with the London side expecting the return of William Saliba, and the chance to sign Pablo Mari, will the Gunners change their mind?
Man City have had a poor season, with defence being the heart of the problem. Guardiola’s men have suffered injuries to John Stones, and defensive talisman Aymeric Laporte. This has led to them conceding 31 goals this season already. Pep will surely want to boost his defence to challenge Liverpool in future.
According to Sky Sports, United also want to bring in another centre-back, with Chris Smalling’s and Phil Jones’ futures uncertain.
They go on to say that England is not the only league targeting the young defender. Barcelona and Real Madrid have also shown interest in Upamecano. Also keen to get one over their rivals, Bayern Munich have been keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.
Along with teammate, and fellow Frenchman Ibrahima Konate, who we wrote about previously, the defender is making waves in Europe.
Who should Upamecano join?
